MFT 3, bent side rail

I just got the mft 3 table. When I did some checks before starting with the setup I noticed that the two longer side rails are bent, in the horizontal plane. The rail is closer to the table top at the ends where they connect to the corner piece, sorry no pics but I hope I described the issue well enough.

I turned the table upside down and unscrewed all the corner connections. When all loose the side rails are straight but as soon as I tighten them up they get bent again. I guess this indicates that the problem is the corner pieces and not the side rails. When putting a long straight edge to the outside edge of the side rail the gap is aprox. 1.5mm with the highest point in the middle and the lowest at each corner. I also checked the corners for square by putting a trusty square against the side rails, they are not perfectly square.

Is this normal or do I have problem.

Thanks.

To me you have two options, return it to where you purchased it or contact Festool service and let them help you...The dealer should have no problem exchanging the MFT/3 for a new one. But not being in the USA I can't say what the policy is oversea's. I might also suggest maybe to contact Shane and follow his advise

I guess I can get a new one but I like to know is if mine is more or less normal or are all the others 100% straight. Maybe somebody could check their table.

Your's doesn't sound like any I have seen before.  I have two tables connected on their short side.  I just laid my long rail across the top of the v-groove and couldn't get a piece of paper between any point along the two table lengths.  I'd call mine as close to 100% as realistic.  I'd definitely get a new table.

Granted I own an MFT/1080, but all the edges are 100% flat. Go talk to your dealer and get yours exchanged.
