MFT/3 miter & guide rail system

How sturdy is the miter guage and guide rail on the new MFT/3?
It looks to me that it is a far stronger setup than on my old MFT 1080 & MFT 800.

On those, it is a very easy (and frustrating) matter to knock out of alignment with the slightest bump.

Am I wrong in thinking the new setup is much less susceptible to misalignment after careful setup?

I've never used the earlier model, but the mft/3 has a holddown lock for the end of the fence (fits in the v-groove and into a slot on the fence, tying it down to the table).  This locks the entire mechanism in place, so at least on my unit, it's rigid.

The older model MFTs have this too (except, of course that the slot used is not a V-groove)

i have both and once you line them up they seem to stay in place very well, just watch to make sure that when you flop it down that it has fallen in the little v groove deally bob that stick up that it is supposed to set into.  get it!

The MFT/3 comes with the 'angle' adjustment tool that fits to the fence. I've also got an CMS unit that also comes with one. I use both 'angle' adjustments together - which means it just does not move a mm.
