Actually I am sorry about the frustration I cause everyone. You know I replace my everything with festool and I was pretty new and I was very excited. Reason it took so long since I post this topic, I was in bad shape psychically  I feel energy last 2 hours and first thing I did the squareness test. Thanks everyone I will never jump to FOG without doing proper tests and research for problems:)

Ah brotherman , its all good.

Wait till ya see some of the questions I ask.

I recommend getting that 1281 square from woodpeckers.

I used it for quite a while and its what they use in the end user classes.

its guaranteed square to .01

Let me go in to the confessional, this is between you and me.

When I first got my MFT I had the same issue, I was ticked and ready to do away with festool, cursing it with my best calif french.

I signed up for a end user class and emailed Steve and told him I was fed up and couldnt get my MFT square.

In the class he slowly ran us through the process.

Thats when I realized I needed a good square. The square I was using wasnt square. Caused me all sorts of grief.

We used that woodpeckers square in the end user class. I went and bought one and It changed my life.

So dont feel alone we all go through this sort of thing.

If you have a plastic speed square, you can use a square shooting board to trim the error from the square.

It is even possible to build a try square or framing square and use a shooting board to square the tool.

I heard a Festool representative at a demonstration tell the participants to take some speed squares to the gypsum board supply and test them for square before purchasing the square. It is even possible to straighten a steel rafting square by dimpling the inside or outside corner as needed.

For precision work it is good idea to quickly test that the setup tools are true before one starts the setup.

Come here once you find there may be an issue. Someone may have run not the same situation, could save time and frustration.

I would definitely get ahold of Starrett!  There stuff is usually dead on including their combo squares.  Whoever you got the square from should make it right.
