MFT/3 Stop Nuts

If there is shipping involved than I think you are right.
Hey Sourwould,

As a local Woodcraft employee, I definitely think you should return this to Woodcraft. Especially if you paid $720 for the full MFT 3. The stops are factory set to allow you to set your rail up consistently with the protractor head and attached fence. BTW, for whatever reason, buying the full kit from Festool is the only way to get the supports, protractor head and fence with the various pieces. If we had the same situation at our Woodcraft there would be no questions asked.....a refund, or a return would be immediate and unquestioned, and that is also Festool USA's position. The primary reason to frequent local Festool dealers is the support you get and should expect and the knowledge that the tools and equipment you purchase are new, functional, complete and undamaged. Where are you located?

P.S. - the design of the rail supports is such that once you have a tool on the rail, there is no slop whatsoever. Setup is not difficult, but not intuitively obvious either. You can find several videos on festooltv.com for proper MFT setup.

I would politely disagree with the “no slop” comment. Granted, with the saw on the rail, there isn’t a lot of slop. But, on my MFT, there was enough to miss a perfect 90 degree cut. With the SlopStop gadget, I have no slop at all.

Yes that has been my experience as well. Slop stop has been a noticeable improvement.

The only way I could set it otherwise is to set the engagement of the tab into the slot to favor one side for registration, but that was starting to wear a grove in the rail slot which I didn't like.

I'm in Durham NC.

I bought the full MFT/3. I've set it up already. Just got to get those stop nuts so I can repeat my set up.

Loooooooooooool festool says they can't send me the parts directly.

So Woodcraft can't help you, now Festool can't either ??  I'd check with Festool to see if the 30 day return applies and give it back to Woodcraft.  Even though you have cut into the top, if the 30 day return applies, I'd go that way and repurchase from a reliable supplier.

I called woodcraft back. The employee I got was on point. He called me back like ten minutes later and said festool was mailing them to the store and I could pick them up or they could mail them to me. Probably just got the wrong dude on the phone last time.
