Had about 20 pieces to mortise this morning, found butting the workpiece and clamping a bit tedious so was grabbing a second clamp to push stock against to capture the other side and noticed mft stop sitting on bench...decided to see if it fit....voila...allows you to capture workpiece with clamp snug but loose enough to make adjustments while butting up to clamped scrap on mft top...not the best solution, of course a jig would be better...but an instant solution....lol
I'll try to upload a picture...never seems to work first time...haha

Thanks. It was but a temp solution, but might come in handy if someone were on the job and just needed a quick solution. I know a jig butted up some dogs on the table with an overhang (or something like that) would be a better option. Anyone out there have any jig suggestions for using the table for reference for this type of plunge, or a jig for plunging thru both pieces on a right angle??? Any ideas would be appreciated!!
