Hey guys,

I now have an Incra LS Positioner to go along with my MFT/3-VL and was wondering if anyone else seems to have any problem with:
1) Getting the VL extension perfectly level with the MFT/3
2) Getting the TS insert plate perfectly level with the VL (it seems to sag in the middle and has a couple of other 'high' spots)  ???

For the VL, my process has been:
* Loosen the nuts near the MFT/3 and using a steel straight edge bring the extension in line with the MFT/3 (the photos show a small square however the result is the same with my metre long one as well)
* Tighten the nuts
* Bring the legs up to the same level

This gets it very close, however, I think the main issue I have is with the insert plate as there are no adjustments.

I've considered screwing in some reinforcements underneath the plate (have seen another member of FOG do the same) however before I go modifying anything I thought I would see what everyone else has to say.

Thanks :)

I assume the MTF/3-VL isn't very popular or not many people seem to have this issue?

As I recall, I don't think Mine is perfectly level with the mft, but it doesn't seem to have any effect on performance.

I had thought about really trying to dial it in, but I'd say it's close enough.

I love my VL. I don't recall having many issues setting it up and leveling it.

I have plans to make a rolling cart with the CMS and VL but haven't had a chance to yet and my current setup works great.

The attachment points where it connects to the CMS, you will need to keep the lock nuts loose while you level it. Once you have it flush, tighten the lock nuts down. The level the feet. You will have to do this a few times at least.

Cheers. Bryan.

Appreciate the feedback so far. Haven't had a chance to get back out there due to a recent knee surgery but plan to have another crack at it soon  [wink]

I had a similar experience with my MFT and VL but did not worry too much about that. I just made sure to use the plastic shims that came with my Superfence to make sure the face of the fence was perpendicular to the VL insert. I seem to be getting fine results so far.
