mft alignment

Hi
Does anyone have any recommendations on squaring up a mft3 table? I am new to festool and
I have watched some videos and noticed that all of them using a woodpecker 18* tri square
However there are NONE out their for sale .
  Is there any other recommendations as to How to accomplish this task

Any good quality Framing square or triangle will do the job just fine, you dont have to break the bank. I would highly reccomend using Parf Dogs or Qwas dogs also. Paul Marcell video is what I reference and works for me.

Any precision square will do. It doesn't have to be a particular brand. You should be able to find specs for various squares that state their tolerances. Some of our forum members may have advice on other squares.

If you need assistance with squaring, you can give us a call at the number below. We have folks that can help you over the phone.

As long as you've followed the set up video, the rail should be close to square. Use a large, accurate square to dial it in.

You can also reference the 4 cut method on page 24 of the Kapex supplemental manual, which is also applicable to the MFT, for squaring.

It may be worth noting that Paul-Marcel is working with the older MFT 1080 in that video. So, it's not exactly the same components as the MFT/3.

THx for the tip Shane I was unaware of the 4 cut method test being available from festool. [not worthy]

just use some dogs. Thats all you really need on the MFT/3.
