I am a newbie and maybe this has been covered in the yahoo forum or I missed it here, but has anyone used Geoffrey Noden's adjust a bench system www.adjustabench.com to build a bigger MFT?

I really like Brian's jumbo MFT and also Jerry Work's, but also had the pleasure of working off a adjust a bench equipped table at a woodworking class.

It was awesome to adjust the table hieght for the different functions or to give your back a break.

If no one has done this, any thoughts on why or why not it would work?

I don't see why it wouldn't work.  My current plan is to do something similar (possibly using the Noden hardware or maybe something else).

no reason that it wouldn't work...my MFT is basically a huge torsion box sitting on stuts.  Just mount it on the adjustable rails, and go.

I will say that my torsion box is VERY heavy, however...it might be tough to adjust if something like mine were mounted on those rails.

Thanks Brian and Jay.  Been thinking about this quite some time - will be trying it, just need to get a little more $$ together and time.

I did it and it works fine. I suggest you obtain a couple of pieces of 80/20 square extrusions for the cross pieces. These will attach the legs to the top. Best place I  know of to get those is on 80/20 garage sale site on EBay.
