I had recently picked up a MFT 3 along with some extra tools including the optinal cross members for added stability. I installed them how I thought they should go since the instructions were lacking and I am a Civil engineer, I should be able to figure it out. It turned out I was installing them wrong or at least one of them. I installed one on the front and one on the rear and they made the table very sturdy. The only downside was one of them was not easily removable unless you loosened the bolt on the bracket that attaches to the top rail. I searched YouTube for more instructions and plaid and stopped a Festool guide video of setting up your MFT 3. It turns out that both of the supports are to be installed on the rear of the MFT 3 and not like I installed them. I called Festool support for clarification and they said that they were designed that way so there was no obstruction rolling your CT vacuum under it and not for maximum stability. So I am going to make my own bracket unless someone out there has already done so then I will buy it from you.
