I've been looking around for the best fence for the MFT and my Tracksaw. I've been thinking about using the precision plate and an incra fence system. has anyone tried this yet or know anything about it? Also, if anyone knows about any other options I'm open to suggestions.

Why not use the standard MFT track rail? I dont understand what the purpose of the incra positioner for the MFT. It uses so much real estate.

Tyler,

I have been using that setup for years. I really like my setup for both my router and for my TS 75 in the CMS-VL. It is very accurate, very repeatable and sets up and breaks down in minutes. I have said before that I am not a fan of the CMS fence.

If you don't have a CMS-VL, I am not sure the Incra fence buys you much. I know others have adapted it for cutting and ripping but I agree, it is overkill. I know others may think the same of my setup (which cop car posted) but it works great for my needs.

Cheers. Bryan.

Real estate on my tables are no problem. I have a 4' x 8' Mft and I'm in the process of building 2 5' x 5' MFTs to combine together or use seperately and I machine my own tops on my CNC. I'm looking for a square fence to make repeated rips with my Tracksaw not crosscuts.

I used my LS Positioner on the MFT years ago, but found it unnecessary as I was developing other methods that fit with the MFT far better. See, the Incra jig just doesn't gain you much on the MFT. Parallel is easy to achieve simply using the fence you are already using on your MFT, so why add the Positioner?

No, you may be better served by upgrading your MFT's fence and making a sacrificial 'sled' with its own fence for those parallel cuts. Make your sled about the width of your table and a length that matches your cutting capacity and place a short (not as tall as the thickness material you need to cut) fence perpendicular to its back edge -- the very edge that will ride along your MFT's fence. Great reason to upgrade your fence. This works really great on larger table configurations. So, you just don't need an Incra jig on your MFT.

I don't have any photos [anymore] of my old setup, but it is one of the topics in my upcoming SketchUp project.
