could anybody tell me the measurement on the back hinge of the guide rail on the MFT table , i work in a small shed workshop ,so i have to have my bench against a wall. i would love to buy a MFT but wonder if i would have enough room for the hinge to works i need the measurements from the profile to the back of the guide rail.  Hope someone can help thanks .

From the back edge of the guide rail to the table edge is about 5 9/16 inches, but from the locking cam to the back edge of the rail is only about 3 inches.  You need to bear in mind that the arm for the pivot protractor sticks out a good 8 inches from the back of the table.

If you need to place the bench against a wall, in a small space then, as mentioned, you probably don't want the protractor head set up all the time. Instead, get a second fence clamp and use the pair to anchor the fence. This is assuming you don't need to do angled cuts most of the time.
Mine is set up in a pretty constrained space, I've only had the protractor head on it for the learning experience of understanding the set up procedures.
