Hi.

Here is some pictures about MFT3.

I hope the pictures could help you to understand new devices.

Vac Clamp( number 6 in second picture)  is very interesting and I want to try.

I have MFT and CMS both.  I think CMS doesn't have to be connected to MFT3.

What do you think about this ?

That is a really sweet setup! And of course half of it is NAINA  :(

The fact that what we (in NA) can buy is 1/3 to 1/2 as costly as it is in most of the world is small consolation for some of us, and of no consolation to many.

Certainly anyone who can buy a CMS can get one with 4 legs.  :)

Interestingly, woodworkers make fine router tables, that rival the best of the commercial units, and are published in just about every woodworking publication on the shelves.

Along with this the industry has made things easier by designing and producing products such as router lifts, special fences, etc., to get a handle on the niche.

Why not saw tables?  (whether special purpose or general purpose)

If they sold everything in the picture as a set I would buy it. Otherwise I think my current MFT's are just fine. I would by the Vacuum clamp in a blink it it were available separately.

For those interested in the CMS module system, the old Basis system had a similar extension table (part no. 484132) which fits on a MFT800. Fitting it on a MFT1080 is doable, with a bit of DIY. This will take any CMS module. You do need to buy the switch seperately, but that's no problem. I'm not sure about availability, but as both Festool Germany and Netherlands list it on their website, I suppose they've got a few lying around.

I think there are some problems in new cms.

Sometimes I carry my CMS to anywhere, it's compact . But new cms with MFT3 is no more compact.

If you want to carry cms only there is no choice, you must carry MFT3 too.

If you want to cut wood on MFT, it's easy in small space though. Because you just move saw not wood.

However, If you want to cut on CMS, large space is needed at back. Because you must move wood not saw.

Many MFT users put MFT on corner. But MFT3 with cms could not be put on corner.

When you work on large wood, you must get rid of saw or router table on CMS first.

Because wood could bump into saw or router table.

What else problems ?

I just assumed you could get the CMS as a stand alone version. Haven't really checked it out since I can't buy one. I'm kinda shocked that it must be attached to an MFT-3.
