My MFT3 came with a damaged long side profile (one of the longer aluminum side rails).  My vendor has sent me a replacement unit.

Any suggestions in installing the replacement unit?  I’m assuming I will need to remove the top and loosen the corner brackets.  Any suggestions to make the process simple are are appreciated.

Thanks,

I had the same issue with my MFT 3 several months ago. As far as I remember, I was able to simply remove the rail and replace it. There are four bolts that attach the rail to the corner brackets and they're accessible from the bottom of the table. I don't think it was attached to the top at all.

Yup i can confirm. Only attached with 2 socket cap screw on each corner to the corner aluminum bracket piece. I dont recall if you will need to unscrew 2 addtional screws in any of the corner bracket piece in order to slide the rail in. Gotta check.

Easy Peasey... Simply undo 4 bolts.  Keep locking nuts in same slot location for easy alignment.

Elegant, simple design.  It's like Festool knew those profiles would need to be replaced and made it easy.

Thanks for the tips.  Saved me lots of time!

Cheers,
DaveC
