Did anyone notice the screwdriver on the table of the MFT3, looks like it has a Centrotec Fastfix adapter on it. Can we get one?
I have seen pictures on other Festool websites also.

Dan, you and your fellow cohorts are truly TRYING to bankrupt me aren't you???? :D Just because Festool has something new and cool or same as others but with their name aand quality on and in it does that mean that you must thrust in front of my face forcing me to buy it? The nerve.  ;) ;D ::) :P Fred

There is no information available regarding a replacement for the Toolie.  I would not expect to see one.  The hand driver is not something that is currently offered and I do not know of any plans in the near future to make it available.

so... the MFT3 won't be compatible with my 11-month old MFT1, and the MFT1 is discontinued so I won't be able to buy another? (because the work table height is different) seems like a poorly thought out obsolesence.

will Festool offer some leg extensions so I can fasten the two tables together?

I don't get it.  You guys all have alot of great power tools.  Don't you already have a full set of screwdrivers? ???

However did you see this Festool autoloader:

Dan.
Dan,
I think that Festool screwdriver is not bred in the fine German toolmaking heritage we have come to expect.
But it does resemble a Franklin AutoLoader re-badged in the proper uniform colors.
Perhaps the first NA designed Festool product of a list of things to come???http://www.franklintool.com/index.html

Some of these accessories have me wondering. A few months ago, Festool was advertising an option for the drills that was for a limited time. It was a gizmo stretchy cord with ball to put on your drill and came with a clamp to hold it to mount on a ladder and a belt clip. Sure looked like a great idea. Well, I got one. A couple weeks later I found the exact same thing (way cheaper of course) on Amazon with some other brand name - can't remember but was familiar. So, I now wonder when Festool comes out with these gadgets like the prior mentioned autoloader screwdrivers and such if they are actually making them.

Pete,
I don't know about this.  These festools are fantastic, yet I'm not sure "they" actually make alot of it themselves.  The systainers are Tano. The CT's are by another vacuum manufacturer, though german.  That's business these days though.  I actually wondered if the jigsaw is Bosch.  Look at the barrel grip models side by side & you'll notice the similarities.  Yet all the power tools show good quality, & I'm impressed.  I really love the dustless pneumatic disc sander.  That is a wow tool. :)

Hi,

The Auto Loader screwdriver as well as the ball / hook drill carry thingy are both available in a bunch of brands and offbrands. I have seen both in home centers and hardware stores.
The screw driver shown in the MFT pic is interesting because it has the Festool Centrotec drill chuck on it. Meaning that the centrotec bits could be used in it.

I think this screwdriver looks very like the one I have seen in the Centrotec Systainer 07 which retails here in the UK for about ?180. If you look at this image off the Festool.co.uk website they look very similar.....
I have one of the autoloader screwdrivers and it is OK but does not quite have the Festool wow factor

You need to differentiate between core product line catalogue items, and promotional products - like the two items mentioned below.

I agree, and that reminds me that there is a difference between the 160ish-piece kit currently marketed in the USA (and previously available in the UK?), Order No 493633:

1 x Hookdriver (492526)
1 x Centrotec chuck WH-CE

I say "apparently comprises" because these lists have not been taken from either the UK or US Festool websites, so don't make a final purchase decision before double-checking the contents! Also note that order numbers can change, eg I found three different numbers for the Centrotec chuck WH-CE. Lastly, the claimed number of items in the package can vary, depending on whether you count the Systainer etc.

Festool UK announced 495129 by saying "The Limited Edition CENTROTEC 07 SYSTAINER is back! Due to the popular demand of previous versions, Festool have updated a Festool favourite - the CENTROTEC 07 SYSTAINER again. The set contains 149 fantastic pieces in a comprehensive drill and screwdriver bit assortment for the CENTROTEC rapid change system".

At the moment, both sets can be found on eBay in the UK.

The "screwdriver", referred to earlier in the thread, appears to be designated "CENTROTEC-DRIVE", with Order No 495228, as shown on German Festool website (price 19.64 EUR):

That driver looks identical to a Wiha Drive-Loc VI handle which is available in the US. I don't believe it's true for the Festool version?

Yes, the Festool handle looks as though it's the same design that is used by Wiha, another German company...

...right down to the "Made in Germany" bit...

From what I can gather, its seems that the Festool Centrotec driver (495228), is one of these NAINA (Not Available in North America) items. However it is available as a separate item in the UK under that order number, and features in the UK 2008 price list, retailing at 13.98 GBP incl VAT. At least one UK-based eBay dealer has one up for sale, and if you are keen to have ass to your Festool collection, you might ask him if he's willing to ship to the US. At current exchange rates, it would work out to be about US$ 28.80 plus postage.
