Hi guys. Had the above extractor about 6 months now
And it’s great. When I bought it it works amazingly with the Festool tools. Slowly though for some reason I find the tools aren’t collecting dust as efficiently. The most common one I use is the plunge saw, cordless one. I’ve changed bags, filters but all seem to be same. Any ideas or things to check? It isn’t faulty as it works well but sometimes the plunge absolutely spits dust out and seems like it’s not working at all. I’ve recently
Got the expansion unit which is also great, but it’s been happening before this. Cheers

Others will have better ideas but I'll throw some of my observations out in case they can be useful in shedding light on this topic.

With my Midi I I'll see wildly different dust/chip pickup rates with the ts 55 depending on the density of the material being cut. The fine shavings or dust MDF and  poplar create seem to get picked up very well while oak/ash/hickory chips not as well.

Similarly, but to a somewhat lesser degree, the type of cuts being performed affect recovery rates for me. Long crosscut do best, while narrow trimming and short crosscuts not so well.

What I'm cutting on also has some effect. Cutting on the MFT directly picks up more than cutting material suspended with spacer blocks which may in turn do a bit better than spacer dogs, believe it or not.

Usually, when I see a bunch of dust or chips leftover, it's due to a combination of factors such as these that sort of make sense to my primitive understanding of fluid dynamics.

By expansion unit, do you mean the cyclone? CT/VA
That will always cause a drop in suction, it shouldn't be dramatic, but it is there.
It is also possible that there is some blockage in the housing. Have you ever cut any plastic with it? That stuff balls up like a bird nest. At bare minimum, try blowing compressed air back through the port. Beyond that, open up the side cover and see what's inside.
I find that the most common place for it to spit dust is off the end of the cut, nothing contains it. If you clamp a sacrificial piece of the same material at the end, cut into it (but not through) the dust will be captured better.

Hmm. Good tip. I look for sacrificial stock when trimming slivers of a blades width or less which has proven helpful.

If you are using the 27mm hose, Try the 36mm hose with the TS.  It helps move more air for better dust extraction.

I use the 36mm on the TS and OF1400.
