Minor Plug-it question

It took me until this morning to notice that there are 2 different styles of plug-it cords.  The heavier gauge cord end will fit into the tools that came with the lighter gauge cord but not the other way around.

Any possible reason NOT to use the heavier cord where the lighter was originally provided?  I finally zip tied the heavy cord to the AS hose on my CT-22.

Thanks.

Simple answer, no, you can use the heavier cord for all of your tools.

You can't use the lighter cord on tools that came with the heavier cord because it is too light a gauge wire and is likely to overheat.  But too heavy a cord is always safe, just more expensive.

What they said.

For anyone not familiar with the differences, here is an image of the two types.

Interestingly, the heavier replacement cord is cheaper than the lighter guage.

Interesting?    Strange.

They might as well just discontinue the limited application 18g cord and only sell the universal 16g cord.
