I bought the Mirka Ceros sander and vacuum about 6 months ago. Absolutely love it with the Abranet screens and the dust collection is right up there with Festool. The problem I had after purchasing was if I was using the sander for a constant 30 to 45 minutes the sander would get extremely hot and the speed would start fluctuating and if I stopped the sander it would be difficult to restart or get the head to spin. My rep sent it in and it finally came back and he said they replaced the motor. I didn't use it for a month or so until the other day I pulled it out to sand about 22 cabinet doors although it didn't get hot but the power was fluctuating after about 30 minutes.
Has any one else had any experience with the Mirka Ceros or heard of this problem? When the sander is operating (before 30 minutes) it's an awesome sander, not bulky and fits the hand well. I'm considering buying the new Festool 5" sander as I've heard it was Festool's answer to Mirka's Ceros.
Any thoughts?

Thanks.

I have a friend that has the 5" Mirka Ceros. The motor had to be replaced on his sander also.
He said he still loves the sander.

He was pushing me hard to get a Ceros. I it sanded great, but I did not like the paddIe switch. I do not like holding a sander in the same way all of the time.

I got the chance to use a Festool ETS EC125 before I made a purchase. I used it for over 2 hours straight. It never go warm, It sanded great & dust collection was also excellent & I do not have to keep my hand in the same spot on the sander. I purchased a EST EC125. I have been using it for about 2 weeks. It is the best sander I have owned & best Festool sander I have ever owned.

The nice thing about Festool is that you have 30 days to try their tools out. If you do not like them, you can return them for a refund.

I went through this recently and am very pleased with the 150 ets ec.    I am sensitive to the vibration and i found that the festool sander was better for me.  They are both very high quality.    I know several people that rave about the mirka sander.    The main feature that i liked about the mirka was its size.    If you can overcome the size  i think you will be very pleased.
