Sparktrician said:Given that the OF2200 was designed as a hand-held router, I think I'd much rather use something like a Milwaukee or P-C router in a Woodpeckers PRL-V2 (http://www.woodpeck.com/prlv2.html) and not have to deal with the plunge spring issue. I really appreciate the OF2200 for hand-held use, but think it's just not the right tool for in-table use until the CMS is available (and I'm not holding my breath waiting for that).

There may be complications for placing the OF2200 in a router table, although, from a European perspective there is nothing pecualiar with placing a router that has got plunge springs, in a table. That aplies to most routers in tables over here. Still it may be more convenient to do as you suggest, but there are two features on the OF2200 that are great for table use. 1st is that there are three bearings on the armature, and that will likely prove useful using large cutters especially. Secondly the collet can be pushed 10mm/3/8" below the sole. Remove the sole and there is more than 13mm/1/2" to compensate for the thickness of the insert plate.
There does not seem to be any locking function apart from the one on the router itself for the raising mechanism on the CMS-OF. I guess that the weight of the router and the force of the springs counterbalance each other there. Any input on that here? I have never felt the need to lock it when i the CMS module. How that will work when mounting the router in another table I don't know.
