This summer my family and I are moving back to Indianapolis.  And most likely my MFT3 will go into storage until we find a house.  I got a bunch of 2x4 cut offs from HD for free and I am thinking of making some type of crate for it to sit in so it won't get damaged.  Anyone else having any suggestions of how I can go about protecting my bench while in storage?

The mover's storage or yours? When I moved to Europe, the mover crated the stuff they stored for me.

With the legs folded the MFT should be possible to store on a europallet with a collar. Just add a top and you are good to go.

The movers I've used were pretty darn good at packing. I would think that in a POD, an MFT wouldn't need a lot of protection. The weak point would be the guide rail, I think. I would bet that if you taped the guide rail & fence lengthwise to the tabletop and put it in the corner wrapped in a mover's blanket or some of the protective paper/bubbles/etc., you'd be fine. Even unwrapped, it should be OK - those tables are meant to be mobile and aren't exactly fragile.

Just don't let UPS move the POD...
