Multimaster Systainer ... double decker

I really dislike multiple inserts in a single Systainer.  They're inconvenient to remove and reinsert.  Upper inserts often end up lying around to facilitate access to the bottom level, exposing the very tools you are trying to protect.  I like the cantilevered Systainers much better for the situations when the tools would fit.  I wish they had a model with just one cantilevered compartment, and wish they came deeper.

The PVC cleaner is basically a bunch of  chemicals. It is made to thoroughly clean PVC pipe before cementing it together.  Ketone, Acetone, Methly something or other........

That is pretty nutty .......   the blade coating melting through the tray. I better check mine and remove the coating.

Thanks thats a help I know where to look now. in the Piping department.

But probably NAINA.

But I don't think Fein has the restrictive export policy Festool has. You'll probably be able to order one in Europe and have it send to America.

Will give that a try. Someone bump this thread when they're released.

Hi,

Coincidentally I purchased a multimaster this morning.  I bought it to undercut door jambs for a few tile jobs I have on the go.  I have to say I am very impressed with the tool after its first day.

The package I bought has a canvas bag for storage.  I will have to get a new systainer to store it in.

I generally don't like having things stacked either. But the Multimaster isn't a tool I use a lot.  I put new/spare, and little used blades  in the bottom layer. In use blades in the top. So it is rare when I even need to go to the bottom layer.

Just a note on using the PVC cleaner on Systainers. Just wipe with a cloth dampened with the cleaner. Go easy, only use as much as needed. The cleaner is basically cleaning by dissolving a thin film of the plastic. If you start really going at it and scrubbing in circles you will get a swirly mess.

About time Fein went over to systainers their boxes are odd.

Might have to buy one :)

Cool idea Seth!

Here's an odd thing I (think) discovered: If you leave the waxy/rubber coating that comes on the end of the multimaster blades - it melts through the tray! Either that or I left it in my trunk on too many hot North Carolina days - but only the blades with the coating still on them melted through. Anybody else notice this?

Mine were just beginning to melt inside of my systainer, I only checked after you had mentioned it in this thread. Good thing I did too because I took them off the blades now and cleaned up the little mess they made inside my systainer. Thanks :)

sorry again  ;D

There will be 3 limited edition Fein SuperCut sets with T-Loc systainer...at least in Germany  ;D

That would be a great systainer to get, Hope is it available in the USA some time SOON!!!!

I heard from the Dutch Fein sales person that there will be no empty Fein systainers for sale.
They will only be supplied with the Supercut machines. That's a bugger!!!
And only for the period of 01-03 untill 30-06-2014.
I'll then buy a new machine and sell my current Supercut.
Because I have to have one of these Fein systainers.

In response to posting #16 (melting the insert tray when in contact with the protective coating of the Multimaster blades), I have had another similar experience in another hobby (model railroading) related situation.  There are rubber tires on models of backhoes, earth movers, tractors, etc. that are used for loads on flat cars.  With some of these rubber compounds the contact area between the rubber tires and the plastic deck of the flat car will be eaten away on the deck of the flat car over an period of time.  It appears to be the out-gasing form the rubber tires that is the problem in that situation.  So I suspect that the "goop" that is put on the multimaster blades or on the teeth of a newly sharpened saw blade when put in contact with the vacuum formed inserts causes the insert to disolve.  I think this will happen at whatever point the two materials touch each other.  Heat (storing things in a trunk or van) probably acceleate the process, but it will happen even in a cool dry place since it is some kind of a chemical reaction.  Having something to keep them from touching each other will protect the systainer insert.  FYI.  Bruce W
