Okay. I kind of didn't want to share this, but what the heck? Maybe it helps someone out.
I started my first floor remodel and I have textured ceilings. I'm not a fan of the texture. I thought about buying a PLANEX, but the project is too small.
Could I buy a PLANEX, use it, and sent it back to Festool because "I didn't like it." NO, that's not the way I do things.
So instead, I came up with this contraption. [scared]
Since I have a couple Festool sanders, I had this Porter Cable just taking up space in my shop. So if I burn up the motor using it to sand the ceilings, I
didn't care. It's a $50 sander that I have had for a year, I got my money out of it.
SO, I clamped a 1x4 piece of pine I had to the Porter Cable sander. Rounded the edges of the 1x4 and went to town!
The projects went smooth. Better then I thought. I have a Vortex from Rockler with my Ridged shop vac. The system did better then I expected.
It was a little heavy. But I have big shoulders and a strong back (many years of heavy weight training [smile]).
It only took me 2 hours to sand the living room ceiling with a 5" ROS. I thought that was good timing.
I am not a drywall pro. BUT my brother-in-law is a journeyman plasterer. He is going to smooth out the mud as I role it on. So I know my ceilings will
be smooth. Here are a couple pictures of the hi-tech tool! [embarassed]

It was loud in the room. Good thing I have ear protection. But, I was able to keep the house dust free. Which for the wife was a big plus.
I took a picture of the ceiling, but I'm using my cell phone for the photos and that picture didn't show how well the ceiling turned out.
My wife wanted to know why I wasn't using my ETS 125 and CT26 for the project. My exact words were " babe, are you crazy?"
Anyway, thanks for looking guys. Have a good one!
