I went to a wood working class and after a solid day of basics, we each built a cabinet the second day. Here's mine. We started with rough sawn poplar and used the jointer (Steel Case) and planer (DeWalt). The rest was built with Festool products: a 125 sander, the Kapex, the 15 + 1.

I still need to finish with the hardware and finish the cabinet, but I was happy with how it turned out. It gave me the confidence to tackle tougher stuff.

Very nice job!  I don't see that you listed a router in the tools used???

David,

I have to agree with Ron -- Very nice job!  And looking at your signature line, it looks like it also will give you the needed confidence to purchase a few more Festools.    [eek]

David,

Very nice.  Very special since it was your first.  You never forget your first.

I have never seen poplar look better than this.  Hope that the finish you use maintains that beautiful wood grain.

Nice project David,  that cabinet is going to really look nice as the poplar darkens as it ages.  I have a dining room table made from poplar that is gorgeous now that the green cast has turned brown.

Ron, the shop that we were in had a 3+ something or other PorterCable router, in a Kreg table, so I didn't get a chance to use one of the Festool routers.

Just truthfully, the ETS 125 was the most impressive sander I've ever used.

Nice job David.  Very nice indeed!  What kind of finish are you going to use?  [thumbs up]

I'm waiting for my wife to decide where (if anywhere at all) it'll be in the house!  [cool]
