My kapex dust shroud is cloudy

I checked the supplemental guide and found no clues about removing and cleaning the shroud.
I did find how to clean the laser lens so that is a start.
Is this not an owner maintenance project?
Thanks
Paul

Unplug Kapex!!! Remove blade per instructions in supplemental manual. Use narrow nozzle on shop vac to suction out dust. Follow up with clean rag on a thin stick. Replace blade per instructions in supplemental manual.

Check to be sure dust collection pathway on Kapex is not obstructed. This is best done with blade removed.

I took the blade off to clean it not that long ago and dust in the shroud is not the issue. I use a 2 1/4 vac hose and the extraction is pretty good. Its the plastic of the shroud appearing 'stained'. Never thought of trying to clean it 'in place'. I will start with water and then move onto a non abrasive cleaner. Thanks.

Compressed air should do the trick nicely - in case that dosn't work it would IMHO be better to disassemble and soak it in something that separates the plastic (without destroying it) from whatever is sticking to it.

Compressed air did blow but has not 'cleaned' the shroud. I will use the terry cloth first.

Its that disassemble part that I dont see how to do.

Does the saw sit in the sun?? I have noticed that the plastic on my festool radio is discoloring from sitting in the sun.

I wonder if this is like car headlight lens covers or my polycarbonate eyeglasses that get cloudy from micro-scratches?
