I just received my kapex and thought I'd post some pics of how it is setup and ready for future systainers. I built this stand about a year ago for my dewalt 718 from some plans I found so when I received my kapex last week I just had to make a few modifications so the height would line up with the side support....Oh great saw btw

Yes, please give us more details about the wood you used to make the cabinets, too.  Stain?  Finish?  Very nice.

Yes Peter that is 3/8" red oak that I planed down and to Rljatl its just birch plywood trimmed with hard maple and finshed with three coats of shellac

I am officially jealous.  That is just a terrific setup.  I have been thinking about a Kapex and your setup makes me want one even more.

How do you open the fence wings to get full tilt on saw. Looks like you are "fenced" in.

Nice job and it looks really nice.

I see a 4" dust collection port on the left side cabinet.  Can you provide a little more details on this?

Baremeg55 its a chamber that runs behind the drawers on the left side. I made them 18" deep to compensate for this and the right side is 22" deep. You can see the 4" hole cut in pic 5 that leads to the 4" dust port on the left. The port is formed from the back of the drawers, the back of the cabinet, and the top, which I waxed to make dust that fall behind the saw flow through the chamber easily

Mark,

Thanks for clarifying.  What you described was exactly what I thought you had designed!  Neat!!  Oh, yes, looking at pic 5 I see the port.

Very nice set up indeed!!!

Baremeg55 this is not my design its a plan I found a couple years back when I first got into woodworking. Just google woodworkers journal miter saw station and you will find it
