Hi Everyone

I spent the day at my daughter's house last week to receive the plumber who was going to install the new boiler. Unknown to us and to the plumber, the wrong boiler had been delivered by the manufacturer. The plumber was self employed and was therefore going to receive nothing for his day's work. Despite this, he helped me with a couple of other jobs and wanted nothing in return.

Over coffee he told me that his son had had leukaemia for over 3 years and was due for more treatment the following day. He did not leave empty handed and I told him that I would do my best to raise money for the specialist hospital treating his son.

So, I have produced my most important video ever. It is not going to benefit the plumber or his son directly but will help all the children who go to Great Ormond Street Hospital for help.

Here is the link:

Thank you for watching this.

Peter, thank you for doing this. Certainly in keeping with the season, but I imagine you would have done it anytime of the year.

Absolutely, my wife and I were in tears when we heard George's story. On the day we met Craig (the plumber) his son was having treatment, yet again, at GOSH. He is now home for Christmas and will be monitored very carefully.

Many thanks to you, Peter, for demonstrating the spirit of compassion for not only this video, but for taking the time to act on behalf of little George and as importantly for truly listening to George's dad.

Hi Willy,

Many thanks for this.

Hi Everyone,

I neglected to say that the person who was the best bone marrow match for George's transplant was a lady from the United States.

George will be forever grateful to her for such a generous and selfless gift.

Well done America ! Thank you.

Hi Peter,

From my hospital room in Rehab, Wednesbury W.Mids

I have been laid low for some weeks with a dangerous skin infection, (Cellulitis) and I was off my feet completely. I have just got back to something like normality, and am now recovering. Rest assured when I get back home with full access to my affairs, I shan't forget the care and attention I have received, and Gt. Ormond St will also be a beneficiary.

More power to your elbow.

Hi John,

I do hope that your recovery is swift and that there are no long terms after effects. I went down with an auto immune system issue 3 years ago and it was touch and go for the first 24 hours. I was very lucky and with some excellent treatment in hospital and at home I came through more or less unscathed.

Take care.

Peter
