For a couple of years now I have been using my ets125 to sand large cabinet panels and have produced a great finish but wanted to better manage my time. So before our price increase in Canada, I bought an RS2E sander and all I can say is WOW. Used it today for the first time and it was great. Festool was right to say that it is the master for large flat surfaces. I should have bought this a long time ago. Eventhough the power cord is permanently attached to the sander, who cares. It's not a deal breaker. I would recommend this sander to anyone. Very happy with my purchase. I hope that when I buy the RO150 I will be as happy.

Good to hear.

I  recently bought the RS2E, a bunch of paper and systainer for the paper AND the  RTS400 from Tom B.

I haven't used either yet.  In fact, I haven't even plugged them in and powered them up.    [scared]

The project I plan on using the RS2E on has yet to come through. That's because I've been working 12 hour days, 6 days a week.

But I wanted to grab them before the price increase.

I Have the DTS500 and it is also a very good sander. I will buy the RTS500 very soon as I think it will be great to get into the corners of panels. You can never have enough sanders.

Glad to hear you like your new RS2E.  I purchased one during the recon sale on the advice from members here on the FOG. I have to say I was quite impressed as well.  What a wonderful finish- and effortless!  I was really hesitant on Festool sanders at first because of the cost, but now that I have them, I don't use any others (OK I occasionally pull out my Metabo so it doesn't get lonely).  [smile]

I noticed you mentioned you have yet to get the RO150- don't wait!!  My wife purchased one for me as a Christmas gift- what a feat of engineering.  Its size and configuration would have you think it is tough to handle, but has been a smooth operator from the first minute out of the Systainer.  I know some folks here on the FOG believe it needs a break-in period, but I have not had an issue.  This is a great compliment to the ETS150 series sanders I also have.

Enjoy your purchase!

Regards,
Gerald

That's the way I felt about it.  Sort of like, "oh sweet mystery of life at last I've found you" ish.

I was lucky enough to pick one up for a song.  My local dealer went out of business last summer and I bough his very lightly used demo unit for the price of the Makita 1/2 sheet.
