Here's what Lie-Nielsen uses on their workbenches:

"Lie-Nielsen benches are finished with a 3 equal-part mixture of spar-varnish, boiled linseed oil and mineral spirits. This traditional finish seals the wood, but does not make it slippery. The finish will need to be renewed from time to time."

I have $2k and countless hours in my bench.  When I'm dead and in the ground I hope my kids don't sell it for $100.  Good score!

That is the deal of the century, either of those vise screws would cost $100!  [eek] Its like you purchased a vise, got a 2-for-1 deal and they threw in the bench for good measure...
