Today is the one year anniversary of my joining the FOG. There have been some good things and some bad things that have come out of it. The good:

• I have learned a LOT!
• I have met a lot of GREAT people here, and made some new friends who have helped me out - some at considerable effort. In the latter category, I'd like to especially acknowledge them - but I'll keep their identities to myself out of respect for their privacy.
• Almost 100 FOG members (and two who aren't) have the First Aid Systainer I designed, and are now well prepared for an accident or injury. One CRAZY person even bought THREE of them? Thank you, Richard!  [thumbs up] [thumbs up] [thumbs up] three times!
• I got introduced to the wonderful world of high-quality, mostly dust-free tools and a great organizational system in the form of Systainers of all shapes and sizes. I started with (last Christmas) the TS75, one systainer, and one guide rail. I now have fourteen power tools, four Guide Rails, and nearly 3 dozen Systainers.

The bad things:
• See the last bullet point listed above? [scared] The green slope is VERY steep!
• According to the stats page - Total Time Spent Online: 36 days, 19 hours and 0 minutes. I need to get out more, especially to make sawdust.

So, thanks everyone for making my first year on the FOG so fantastic and memorable!

Seen as you posted your stats I decided to have a look at my stats never looked before.

76days 36min  [eek]

and ALOT of posts maybe about 20 of them have been of any use to some one the remaining thousands of my posts have been blah blah blah lol

When I read this you had 2480 posts and your 36 days + 19 hours equals 883 hours to average out to 2.81 posts per hour... I'm not sure if that is a good or bad thing though :)

Well, a fella's gotta work once in a while, right?

[wink]

Most of my posts happen in 'batches' when I sit down to take a break. or at night when I can't sleep...

I'm sure I've had more than 20 useful posts, but that's mostly because of the First Aid Systainers. But I am equally sure that I have hundreds (or thousands) that aren't much more than 'blah blah blah' as well.

Some days are more 'blah' than others...

Ha lol.

Well looking at your post count and mine.    I have likely deleted about 200 posts or more over the years easily I am sure.

Any way
So I have almost been on FOG for 6years [eek]

So just a rough estimate I have posted about 1000 a year!

Now you have posted more than Double that in one year Jesus!!

Saying that I was on a lot more before but last year or two I defiantly calmed down on fog a bit.

So have a few other UK Foggers.  We were very naughty back in the day.  Often getting messages from Shane and Peter telling us/me off and deleted and blocking removing posts, entire topics.  Heeheee

Congrats WOW! on your prolific participation!  Hope that your enthusiasm continues going forward.

JB,

Don't worry, your old deleted posts count towards your grand total - they still reside in a hidden place of the FOG called the recycle bin.  I remember some of our "battles" and smile.

WOW congrats on the 1 year anniversary.  2 posts to 2500, come on, you can do it!!

And THIS makes 2500!!!

Yes, I *had* to do it on this momentous occasion...

[big grin]

Now I need to get back to work on the house. I have the lights off in several rooms while I replace a 4-gang switchbox in the entry with a 7-gang one and re-wire everything that was in there.

At least I didn't lose the heat! It's 10 degrees F here right now, on its way to Zero.

[thumbs up]

I should do a couple quick posts and maybe I can get to 600, only 1900 behind you!

My electrical skills aren't as advanced, good luck getting that done without freezing.

I built my own house (many years ago) and wired it myself as well. When the electrical inspector came through, he said he had never seen so much wire in one house. Phones, network, AV, automation, Security, CATV, etc.

When I had DirecTV come out a few years back to hook up 5 sets, they were gone in a little over an hour. They only had to mount and point the dish, then drop a cable to the basement (through PVC pipe that was already there) where they jacked into my whole-house distribution system. Then they put a receiver in each room and they were gone. The installers couldn't stop commenting on how slick my setup was, and how easy it made their jobs.

I pity the person who comes behind me and tries to figure it out...lthough it *IS* pretty well labelled.
