Hello all,

I'm from Germany and my english is not as good as it should be, sorry for this :)

I want to show you my self-made Festool Systainer-Port made out of aluminium profiles. Also I wanna say "thank you" to user "mattfc" for his great support and help on this. I have found his self-made Kapex table he has made out of this profiles and postet on this forum, and I was very impressed. That was the reason I have made my own Systainer-Port:

I'm very excited on your sentiments...

Thank you!

By the way, the pictures are pretty old. I have mounted some lock-outs addtionally, that the systainer can't move within the drawer.

Welcome to the FOG.

Looks awesome!  Those aluminum profiles look fantastic.

By the way your English is great.

Some people used to give my mom a hard time about her accent.

My response was always

" Just remember, if someone has an accent, it just means they know one more language than you do! " [big grin]

Cheers

James

Great job and welcome to the forum!   [welcome]

Can we get a first name so that we don't call you Freak or e36?

My guess and hope is that we will be hearing more from you in the future.  [big grin]

Peter

looks great, well done, glad to have helped. Which size profile did you go for? looks like 40x40 or 45x45. Not sure if you saw this (and if I plan a bit better next time will go down this route) but the profile comes in different configuration lik 1n, 2n and 3n I  think, which is related to the number of channels in the profile, so you can get profile that just has 2 channel at 90 deg, that way for the corner posts you can avoid having the infill strips (which are the black ones in your sysport)

so are you hooked now like me with this big boys meccano?  ;D

Thank you all very much for the kind welcome greetings!!! My first name is markus and I have already changed my user profile...  [smile].

@mattfc, I have used the 45x45 profile and I understand your explanation, but the black stripes are very cheap, 2m only 1,20 Euro, and in my opintion they are looking good, a good contrast. But thank you for the hint, I will follow up on this...

Great post. Please direct me to the original posting from which it was made. Are these 8020 extrusions?

TIA

Yes.. wonder if they do festool green  [smile] I used the anodised alumiun strip which was quite a bit more, that was why I thought why didn't I just buy the different profile. It always leaves the option these way to easily both sysports together, or fix things to them I guess

i like the 4 sided profile. i know it would be cleaner looking if there were no filler strips. i would pay a bit more for the 4 sided profile because you could add jigs, fixtures etc, even storage solutions etc.

yes, and funily enough its actually cheaper to buy the 4 sides than ones with less channel (£8.49/m for 4 channels, £10.50 for 1 and 2 and £11.40 for 3!) no idea of pricing rationale other than volumen produced

without meaning to hijack this thread.. here was the orginial post
http://festoolownersgroup.com/festool-jigs-tool-enhancements/sysport-cms-mft-(work-in-progress)

the 8020 is very similar, mine in the thread is based on Bosch Rexroth profile.. I think similar for Markus' sysport

Thank you for the prompt reply, Matt. I have to assume that KJN Profile is your local representative.  8020 is a similar North American Manufacturer or one or two similar competitors. In any event, since California is a bit too far west of you for KJN delivery, I will pursue your great idea with them, which of course is the purpose of the OP, and thank you again.

Yes KJN is a reseller that is happy to deal with individuals and also cuts the stuff to length
