So about 2 years ago I was wanting to make a work bench that I could get on and off jobs. I have 3 MFT tables, but was looking for something more. I went on youtube to search for workbenches, and stumbled on Ron's channel. Wow!!! I was blown away. So I started out with his bench and miter saw stand and then onto the trailer. I have been using it for about a year and a half now and love it. I am now going to set up a van in addition to my trailer. I am mostly a finish carpenter and occasionally a framer in the SF bay area. From time to time the company I work for does projects in the city, and a van will be much easier to navigate and work out of.

The trailer is a 16x8 tandem axel cargo trailer. I purchased it on craigslist for 3000.00. I tracked 75 hours for the build and an additional 800.00 in AC ply, wiring, and dust collection accessories. within the next year I will probably retrofit the passenger side. I set it up to work out of like a shop and I just don't use it for this purpose. I use it mainly for tool storage and material transport. Most jobs are larger and require much more room to work. I tow it with a F350 but probably could use a half ton pickup truck with beefed up brakes.

I'm just a hobbyist/tooladdict so my tools never leave my shop, but seeing your setup makes me want to go out and buy a trailer just so I can build it out.

Where did you buy the blue and gray floor mat?

Curious when you cut in the trailer versus outside the trailer on the stands.  Does it depend on the job size?  It does look like you can rip a sheet on the truck and do cross-cuts up to at least 8'.

You are quite right. I can do some cutting in the trailer and some millwork. The problem is I am on large job sites and have to go back and forth to make cuts and do millwork. Its much more efficient to set up in the room I'm working or in a central location. The other problem I have is space. We do built-ins, mantels, closets, stair packages, custom wainscot….  I need much more room than what is available in my trailer. Also when cutting crown and base I am limited to the out feed on my left.

I rarely use it as a shop. Its great to park and leave on a site. Most times we will be on the same job for several weeks or months.
