My wallet is gettin' itchy....

Wow, you have $$$ burning a hole in your pocket.  You're lucky, if I had $275 I would have an order off to Uncle Bob for the CXS in a nano second.

They're introducing it piece by piece and each comes with a stick of gum.  I believe it was said the release date is October 31st and bring a bag systainer when you come to Lebanon, Indiana.
Maybe Shane will be answering the door, in costume of course.

Believe me, its taking all my willpower to resist... I have a half dozen drills, plus 3 Festool (C12 and TDK12s), and a Bosch compact driver... And I still check out the CXS almost every day.

The only argument I find "convincing" is that I'm saving it for the Centrotec set.. but a junkie's willpower only lasts so long!

My drills/drivers are the Makita 14.4 drill and impact driver kit, DeWalt-older corded one, Milwaukee-right angle, and Bosch-corded.  So I have only 5, and well in one of these upcoming months I'll get a Festool drill.  My willpower for now is knowing that I've got to take care of and treat my family right.  Let's say this as I'm an addict (tool and Festool) and border on a junkie while really having a hard time trying to repress it.

I was good for a few months, but I lost... got me a CXS ealier this week.  I should have enough change in my change bottle to cover it, though.  Its is so cute and little.  I have no doubt I will be better able to reach some screws that I was driving with the bit half off and sideways with the impact driver.  The clip is most def not going to allow the device to fall out of your pocket unless I learn how to do back flips.

I've got four Adirondack chairs on qeueue this weekend... trial period.

I've been wondering (and also asking) the same thing.  I would love to get the new C12 or C15 along with the the centrotec set.  I didn't buy the drill bits when I purchased my T15 this year, because I was told the centrotec set would be coming out soon.  It's been months and I am getting extremely anxious.  Unfortunately for Festool, Woodpeckers has been taking my tool money this summer.

I had to google it to see what it was.. .looks like a pretty good  set og gadgets for your drill...

Just so no one gets all bent out of shape (well maybe a little is ok), it's the 2007 Centrotec Set.  It cost me $380 back then.  I bought it with my C12.  The store screwed up and almost gave me another one for free.

It won't be too long before the new set is here.  Hang tight.  Lots of really good stuff coming to us in N.A. the end of 2011 beginning of 2012.

P.S., You can thank Shane for his work on here, making Festool take notice of what we want and how fast we want it.

I'm still baffled that people are getting excited about getting to spend $400 for a bunch of drill bits and drivers just because they come in a Systainer and have a little groove in the side......

Hmmm, that set's from 2007 and still looks brand new, didn't know business was that hard for you .......  [tongue]

Yeah, it does look new in the pictures, but I assure you, in person you can tell.  A lot of the drill bits I've never used.  I rarely have a need for metric drill bits.  The drivers get used a lot.  I've added a lot of extra bits into what you see, because I had them prior to buying this.  Bob Kovacs is sort of right, though.

Well, I like the tools and the systems Festool designs for them, but I feel compelled to buy american-made on bits and drivers... unless what I need (or want) is not available.  Maybe these Centrotek bits are special?  Anyone care to instruct me?

If you were to cut them in half, you'd see they have a creamy Fahrvergnugen center.  That's why they don't break easily.  [blink]

I've purchased several sets of tools from Montana brand tools -- they are quality U.S. made and although not "cheap" they are less than the Centrotec bits, available in U.S. sizes and most importantly are available now.  This company makes the drills & bits that Bridge City Tools offers for sale.  http://www.montanabrandtools.com/pageID/124/rootID/124/MBT_Category.aspx

Another plus (for some) is that they also offer square drive bits.  [smile]

What is special is not that they're of very high quality (what they are, but there are other brands that can claim the same) but that they have a quick change system that works extremely well. Having a drill system with 6 different chucks and the Centrotec bits that just pop in and out makes me work very fast and I never want to go back to the old way (ie jacobs chuck and twist, twist, twist, twist, twist, twist, vomit) other brands do it.

Damn... just what I needed.  FOGgers getting things into my head.

You know what I would really like?  I saw a Paul Marcel video about one of the C-series drill/drivers, and he had a head to drive screws in drywall to a present depth.  I liked that a lot, and can thing of many ways to use it.  Alas, it is not available for the CXS.  So, when is Festool gonna tighten up and make it available?
