I have been having a really hard time getting some 90 degree square cuts, whether it be with the TS55REQ, or a newly acquired Hitachi sliding miter saw.  I was always off just under 1/32" when checking with my Woodpecker 1281 square.  So, I finally checked the square, which I should have done a while ago:

Those are two lines drawn and flipping the square in between drawing the lines.  I have tried it on several surfaces which have a flat reference, and all of the lines come up like this.  I am not sure if the square was like this from the beginning, or if it "moved" over time.  Anyone else check their 1281 square?

I then made a 90 degree cut on the Hitachi saw, first with the board against the left fence, then flipped it over to the right fence, leaving cutting a strip about 1/2" wide.  I measured the 2 ends of the strip.  They were off by only .002".

I guess I should send the square back.

I've had my 1281 Woodpecker square for several years, and I recently dropped it on the floor one too many times. It was slightly out of square and it's not something that I can correct. One quick call to Woodpeckers, they said "Send it in and we'll take care of the rest. If they can't correct it, they'll replace the blade."

Amazing service. Basically a lifetime warranty. And they cover the return postage.

I've had great success with Woodpecker Tools.  I was at a tool show and bought a retired One Time Tool.  They put the wrong item in the bag and I didn't check until I got home.  I called Woodpecker on the following Monday and they sent me the correct tool.  I told them I would send back the tool in error and they said to keep it for my inconvenience.  That's customer service.e
