Have the newer water based lacquers caught up to the finish quality of the traditional solvent based NC lacquers?  I looked at some sample boards that were finished traditionally with NC lacquer and with a water based vairety and to me, there was still no comparison in the depth and luster of the NC version.  I read the review of the Target Coatings products and it sounds pretty good but I don't use this kind of finish very often so I'm not worried about the health concerns since I'm not exposed to it very often.  I like the idea of water clean up since I use my Fuji HVLP gun to shoot both lacquer and latex.  Just wondering.

Howard I'm not a pro painter but I use the target water based products in my home shop. I had one batch tinted black and the other clear. Sprayed both through my HVLP gun and was very impressed with the quality of finish. It sprays just like solvent based, dry time is 30mins so you can spray in a short afternoon and sand between coats if you wish.
thx

I got a quart of the em6000 from Target Coatings and even the old school pro at Woodcraft was amazed at the rich quality of this product.  It went on very easy, you don't rub it out.  Good stuff!
