Need a top quality router table

So, I'll need to get a new fixed base router to put in the lift.  I have 3 routers but they are all plunge routers.  What is the consensus?

I would recommend one of the (fixed base) routers (with variable speed) published in the Jessem manual.
When I bought mine, it was with the idea that a router would be permanently mounted and never be removed. I am just too lazy I guess to take a router in and out of a lift.

OK, so the therapy is working!  My concern was that I didn't understand before making this purchase that a significant number of people here have the Incra.  To me, it seems quite a bit more precise than I necessarily need.  Having said that, I believe in paying up to buy the right tool the first time and not have to replace.  I'm on the Festool forum after all!  Anyway, I suspect I'll be happy when the whole thing arrives.  Thanks for the support.

You can also use an Incra positioner with your Jessem fence if you would like to add that capability at a later date. A simple homemade adapter would be the only thing needed to marry them. I actually have the full Incra fence system with the 25 inch positioner and another table with the Jessem fence. Which one do I like the best? Both.  [big grin]

I have a one year-old Incra set up... 27"x43" table and 17" Positioner. The table has sagged a tiny bit. Not wanting it to get any worse, I remove my heavy Triton router after each use. Of course, this is a real nuisance. If I'll be continuing work the next day, I hold a 2x4 "temporary support post" under the router and lower it down until the "post" is bearing its weight.

I'm very happy with the Positioner... not so pleased with the warping table top. And, I'd consider selling the Wonder Fence (if interested, PM me) and replacing it with Woodpecker's Super Fence. Soon, I'll be adding a steel support strut under the top – like Woodpecker's uses in their bases. Hopefully, I'll then be able to screw up through it and draw the top "flat", and then leave the Triton in place full-time.

I have the Bench Dog Cast Iron top and router lift from Rockler - mounted on top of my version of Norms Deluxe router cabinet/workstation. Runnning a PC 7518. Stable, powerful, HEAVY, flat & accurate with lots of storage for bits and jigs. What more could you ask for? Never had an issue with this setup. Built like a tank. [big grin]
