Need advice on clamping long boards

Hi Everyone. I have 2 pieces of bamboo that are 6' long each ( 12' total finish length), 1 1/2" thick by 16" wide. I need to glue them end to end for a very long bar top. I will be using dominos, but how to clamp them if I don't have bar clamps that long. Any ideas?

Can you elevate the top to get a piece of 1x under it?

If so cut 4 pieces of 1x 20" long, drill 1/4" holes 1" in from each end, place 2 of the 1x's under the top (one on each side of the seam), run threaded rod through the holes, using nuts and washers tighten the rods evenly so the 1x's clamp the top, use your clamps off of these brackets. You may have to glue sandpaper to the 1x's to keep them from sliding.

I thought I had a picture of Justins set up for this but I don't.

Same idea I used here but the parts were same enough to fit in the parallel clamps.

If the top is finished you can use suction cups to clamp off of or hot glue some blocks in place to clamp off of. Rubbing alcohol dissolves every hot glue I have ever used, squirt some on the glue and the piece lifts right off.

Another idea would be to wedge the long boards being clamped end to end between a couple walls.  Put one end of the 12 foot combo against a wall.  Then get a jack or reversible clamps on the other end, also placed against a wall.  That should compress the boards and clamp the joint.

Just a thought but could you not rout 2 or 3 kitchen worktop joints in the underside of the wood and then use worktop butterfly joiners to pull the joints together (still using glue and dominos too).

What is the purpose of clamping?
is it to squeaze out glue or just hold it in place?

You could always glue some blocks onto it to pull it closed and then cut rose off later and plane them off.
If you are really needing to (Jed) clamp it, then put a block onto a floor maybe with concrete bolts. Then another cleat 8-9 myeres away and use wedges to push the joint shut.
If you room was the right size then just clamp from the base of the walls by using the compression wedges??

You could clamp 2 boards one on each side of the joint. They would be parallel to the joint so you could clamp on them.

Borrow or buy a truck load restraining strap, the kind with a ratchet winch, wrap it around the pieces lengthwise with some packing to enable the strap to slide over the ends, tighten winch as hard as you need.
