I've got a project where a bathroom door is being converted to a pocket door. The door is a solid core 6-panel oak door stained in a medium carmel color. The bathroom remodel is being done in dark walnut in a contemporary style so an oak, medium carmel colored, 6-panel door doesn't fit.
I'm looking for suggestions on how the door can be modified to match both decors. One idea is to simply strip and stain the 6-panel door to match the color of the walnut on the bathroom side. Another is to skin the door with a veneer or 1/4" ply that matches the rest of the room.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks everyone.
