Need some guidance on which saw to buy........

I owned an ATF 55 for over 10 years.  I sold it this month and got a very good price for it.  It still works like a champ and I've ripped 6/4 walnut nicely.
I now have the TS55 REQ and I love it.

Sure a Festool has a higher price but the value they retain is nothing short of amazing for a power tool.  Price is one time....  Cost is forever.
You can always start with the 55 then move to the 75 if it doesn't meet your needs.  You have a 30 day trial from Festool anyway.
Even after a year (three) you will still get an amazing amount of your money back if you upgrade.

I only cut greater than 2" stock twice in  . . . . ever. For those two times I could easily have found some way to cut it. Plus, with my table saw, I  still had to cut from both sides, so having a table saw (at least my table saw) I couldn't do any better than the TS 55 would have done.

It's a wonderful saw.  The depth control is amazing when cutting on an MFT3

When I went to buy mines, my guy at the brick and mortar recommended the TS55, I kept insisting on the 75 just incase I might cut some thicker hardwoods.

He finally told me to trust him, I did.

Im happy I did. I have not needed anything larger.

If I happen to need to cut something thicker, there are ways around it.

You can get that info here in the archives

Thank you all for your replies and insight..... I went ahead and drank the green kool aid. I ordered the TS 55 REQ w/ a CT36. I also ordered the 106" rail. I then ordered the parallel guide kit and a couple of clamps. This should get me started! In the end I am sure the 55 will suit my needs. If not, then I can return it within the 30 days and get the 75.

I think my next purchases will be the MFT/3 table and possibly a router and sander! I eventually would like to the the Kapex.

Again, thanks for your guidance and insight. I look forward to learning from everyone!
