Hi Christian,

Just wondering if the 2007 catalog is in on the calendar for release yet.

I'm eagerly awaiting word on what changes / new goodies (besides the Domino) are in store for the new year.

Thanks,

David

If the release date for the new catalog is 1 April 2007 then would that mean any price increases would be effective that date? What would be the cut off date for orders at the current pricing?

Price increases!! I just got to knw the product line and have memorized my list of tools

Typically, how much of an increase does Festool usually place on the tools year by year.

It depends, but figure at least 5%. I don't have the 2004 & 2005 catalogs with me at the moment, but that's vaguely what I remember. And the increases are usually across the board, too.

In April 2006, Festool increases prices across the entire product line by an average of 3%.  The exception to price increases for 2007 would be the Domino since it's price will increase at the end of the introductory offer on May 31st.

That's about right, if you ignore the price drop (yes, it can happen!) for the RAS 115.04E sander, which we know as the Termite.

Do festool owners get a catalog in the mail, or do we have to request one?

Will we automatically get one if we've recently bought a tool?

Dealers got an email from Festool USA saying there was a delay with the catalogs and to expect them closer to the end of April.  Apparently they are making some rather big changes to the catalog this time around.

So, I have a suggestion.  How about providing a new catalog in advance of actually raising the price!  That way, it will give the customer the ability to see just how much prices are going to increase before they actually do...  Apparently you are making this info available to at least some of your dealers, as I know one was advertising that they knew the new prices in advance of April 1st...  Also, getting the catalog ahead of the price change might just prompt customers into buy before the prices actually go up.

Just a thought...

Matt

While a new catalog may generate more sales, it can also delay them as well. especially if Festool were for example planning to replace a current tool with a new model.  Users would then wait for the new model rather than purchase now.

I agree with David W.  If I had known that the RO150FEQ was coming out shortly after I purchased the RO150E, I certainly would not have done so.  In fact, I'm a little annoyed that I've now got the "old" version without the Plug-It cord and new mechanism.

Bob,
If you don't mind, I'm going to combine this topic with the other one on the same subject in the "Contact Festool" area.  I'll put the combined topic here in "General Discussions."

Your post fits perfectly in line with that discussion, both in theme and timing!

Thanks,
Matthew

  Matt,

Mind? Not at all, good idea.
