New accessory...meet the 'surfix' oil applicator

Jonny, i would presume the metal tin is for keeping used pads in to prevent spontaneous combustion.  I keep all my oily rage in an old biscuit tin or they go straight in the wood burner.  It does seem like a good price for the set, oh well, here we go again  [scared]

Don't suppose there is any info on the oil, IE- danish oil, teak oil, tongue oil ??

Here is a description of the Surfix process in English:

Oil SURFIX dispenser: step by step
Get a result of perfect with the oil dispenser SURFIX of Festool wood finish. Here are the steps to follow to accomplish this:

[attachimg=#]

1 Preparation of wood
With the help of a ROTEX 150 or ETS 150 Sander connected to a vacuum cleaner perform a sanding of wood finish with the RUBIN or BRILLIANT 2 abrasive grain P180 or P 240. This allows to open the pores of the wood so that the oil penetrates better.

2 Oiling and the surplus of oil absorption
Apply a first layer of oil. Wait 15 minutes. Then, using your Sander and abrasive VLIES green, remove the surplus of oil of your surface.
Attention: never use vacuum system when you remove the surplus of oil. It is also strongly recommended to use a tray of polishing for this step.

3 Finishing sanding
Wait for minimum 6 to 8 hours for the oil to be completely dry. Then, using your Sander connected to a vacuum cleaner, perform a second sanding of wood finish with the BRILLIANT 2 abrasive grain P240 or P320.

4. Second layer
Apply a second layer of oil. Wait 15 minutes. Then, using your Sander and abrasive VLIES white, remove the surplus of oil of your surface. The abrasive VLIES white will close the pores of your wood. Wait for minimum 6 to 8 hours for the oil to be perfectly dry.
Attention: never use vacuum system when you remove the surplus of oil. It is also strongly recommended to use a tray of polishing for this step.

I would appreciate it is someone would tell us which types of oils and waxes are being used.

Uh.... [huh] I quit.  [crying]

Dude- I just need help with the area in the very middle that I can't quite reach.  Ohh, and if you can pop any pimples you might come across while you're back there, that'd be awesome.

Hope you're not wearing budgie smugglers there mate !!

Richard,

Go into any autobody supply store and you'll see 3M makes it.  There are probably others also.  Compare the prices before jumping all over the Festool branded version.

I'm not 100% sure I know what a "budgie smuggler" is, but if it's what I'm thinking it is, there's no chance of me wearing one.....lol
