Other than a larger capacity battery, is there any difference between the new CSX and the new model?

Will also have a charge indicator and the three jar chuck will go to 10mm. Minor increase in chuck length due to bigger capacity and of course the new battery.
Hope that helps

Do you think that if you've just purchased a cxs that festool will offer to upgrade to the newer batteries?

I was in the same boat however my 30 day return timeline had just passed before learning about the new CSX. I would doubt they would exchange batteries so if you're within your 30 day return policy I'd at least think about it. Not only the higher amp battery but it was also mentioned about the larger chuck too. The battery gauge is not an issue (for me) but nevertheless a nice feature. All that said, I love my CSX. I drove in approximately 75-80 3" screws installing an outdoor patio/pergola before changing batteries and that was well before it stopped. I'm a little upset by my timing but not by much. I wonder if the price will go up though.

Hmmm...thing is it's a fairly big difference in battery capacity. The body of the drill itself is exactly the same which is good news (guessing the guage is on the battery itself). The larger chuck would be nice but again it can be upgraded. Just the other day I needed to use a 10mm bit in the chuck!

New Model?

When does it land? cant find much info on it.

My CXS is the most used drill/tool in my van. Would love to have extra capacity and battery indicator

Does anyone know if the battery indicator is integral to the battery or the chassis?

It's located in the LED light, just above there are some yellow dots which show the battery capacity.

In the LED light? That seems like a terrible spot, in my opinion, to put  battery indicator on the CXS. The PDC has the indicator in the LED light but at least the light is located in a convenient spot... Near the battery. It may seem nitpicking but having to turn the drill around and point it up to see the battery indicator in an already small LED seems kinda crazy.

That being said, I'll still purchase it (and happily give mine to my pops) for the couple of upgrades and be super happy. Just seems like a puzzling place to put the light on the CXS.

I am pretty sure it is in the LED lights as stated above.
I have the BHC 18 and it has a similar arrangement - it switches from LED white to green light for battery status. I think the CXS is just a scaled down version of it.

It works fine. Not the "best" option but decent enough. When you grab the CXS you can quick press the trigger and check the light. On the TXS it is better placed. :)

Below is a picture of the body of the new TXS.
It uses the same LED light as the new CXS and you can clearly see the yellow dots of the battery indicator.
I agree for the CXS it's a bad place to locate a battery indicator.
Although you don't constantly have to watch it.

Which one did you order Henrik, the CXS or TXS?

I'm also ordering probably the new CXS.
But I'm still waiting to have them both in my hands.
It's the same discussion as C or T handle with the regular Festool drills.
You like the C-handle or the T-handle.
Now I use both types and I like them both, it's just a matter of the job you're using them for.

One of my local dealers who was the first to publish the TXS photos probably has them in his shop this week.
Would be the first in Europe I think!!!!!!!!!!!

Found another picture of the light with the battery indicator on the TXS.
