I'm also ordering probably the new CXS.
But I'm still waiting to have them both in my hands.
It's the same discussion as C or T handle with the regular Festool drills.
You like the C-handle or the T-handle.
Now I use both types and I like them both, it's just a matter of the job you're using them for.
One of my local dealers who was the first to publish the TXS photos probably has them in his shop this week.
Would be the first in Europe I think!!!!!!!!!!!
Since I have the CXS there was no hesitation after viewing the side by side pictures. The TXS is considerably taller and the CXS grip is excellent so there is no point for me in going for the TXS at all. Also, there is a better bit garage on the CXS, it is smaller and has a great belt clip. The forte of the CXS is the small footprint. My oldest one is 4 years old and has started to smell a bit Scalectrix-y so it is on its last legs I think. I worked it a few hours yesterday, depleting two batteries in the process so a 2,6Ah version is very welcome.
The TXS will be a nice drill but it will be much like most of the competition in that range. If the TXS had been an impact drill I would have to get both. As it stands now the TXS has nothing to offer that I fancy. I do find the T drills more comfortable than my C15 to hold but with the CXS there is no such advantage. They would both topple over with the drill chuck and drill attached by the looks of it.
