I waited and purchased the new CT26 with the new hose just after it was released this year. So far, so good. Today my new Workcenter (WCR1000) arrived. The toolnut website says that they are compatible, but I cannot see how. the WCR seems too large, there are no mating surfaces that match. Am I missing something or are they incompatible?

I have my WCR on a first generation CT-36. I believe the motors and motor housing are the same.

I have the older version with a WCR1000 on the top.

Looking at the top the new CT26, it looks like it will still accommodate an older style Systainer with the four green clips.  Given that, can you not put the WCR100 on top of the new unit and slide the green latches into the green extended clips on the CT26?  The old vac had a recess the WCR would fit into and the clips would lock it into place.

Evidently not. The WCR clips (the ones that would be inserted into the sides of the CT cavity) are spaced at least 2 inches wider than the entire cavity.

uh, I was wrong... it does fit. uh, never mind. Rookie mistake. I figured it out.

thanks for the help.

Took a brief look at the specs, but didn’t see an answer. Will the work center fit a CT26 with the boom arm attached?

Yes - I have the WCR1000 on the CT26 with the boom arm.  Works great!

I took the cord wrap off the back of the CT26 and attached it to the rear of the WCR1000 arm vertically with a couple of bolts and nuts into the T-track on the rear WCR1000 upright post.  It works well in this location and lets me easily manage the cord when moving the vac around.
