New Domino XL Thickness adapter project

Hi,
The prices depend of the number of plates and the shipping costs.
The thickness of the plates also changes the price, the 7.5mm takes more time and materials than the 4mm.
As for the exact price, I'm not sure I can talk about it here...
So please mail me at: sjauquet (Gmail) or PM

It looks cool.  Have you ever considered contacting Seneca to see if they will license your design to build this as a Domino accessory?

I think Seneca would be keen to develop your design.  They have the equipment to mass produce it with higher quality plastics.

Hi Steven,
I didn't contact Seneca, maybe later, maybe it's a good idea.

[member=29170]sylthecru[/member] , I forgot to answer about the aluminium, the current design uses the flexibility of the plastic (ABS) to stick to the fence. Doing it in aluminium would require another design with no major advantages.

You’ll have to get a couple of prototypes working that you can send to Seneca.  With international distribution, you’ll probably make more money selling or licensing your design to Seneca that you would trying to 3-D print them on your own.

hello,
Kuukkeli had a idea to enhance the thickness adapter.
the idea is to make a small piece of 3d printed thicknesses to modify the height of the fence to match perfectly other material height.
So I made some calculations and found a combinaison where with one plate and this cros  shaped piece the df700 can match those material heights: 30mm - 25mm - 22mm - 19mm (3/4 inch) - 18mm - 15mm - 13mm (1/2 inch) - 12mm
Here are some pics of a prototype:

[member=37874]sebcbien[/member] this is a very creative solution.  I am curious: why not just create thickness modifiers like this instead of adding thickness to the fence? Can you not get the fence close enough as Festool sells it?

Hi,
The plate allows to go lower than the minimum of the cursor... The cursor cannot go lower than 0 and 0 means the center 20mm stock (10mm)
Seb :-)
