Festool is working on a new CTM MIDI dust extractor.
There is a picture published from the new unit. The picture is part from the press kit for the in Europe already available „mobile workshop MW 1000“ wich can be downloaded from the following link: https://www.festool.de/-/media/tts/festool/press/2018/mw1000/mediakit/mediakit_festool_mw1000.zip The picture has the file name „Festool_MW1000_03.jpg“ The dust extractor is placed on the right top corner. The accessory for the current Festool CTL MIDI have the additional information „fitting for manufactured till 2018"

New features according to the picture:
-new designed control panel (no rotary knob)
-M-class certified for European market
-lid for the house garage
-cable storage on the back (as the current CT 26/36/48)
-design similar to current CT 26/36/48

Standart features:
-new smooth hose
-Systainer dock (T-Loc and Classic)
-auto start socket
-variable suction

maybe integrated:
-bluetooth
-L-class certified for European market
-HEPA certified for US market

That is a great spot, just need an 18v CTM SYS now to complete the lineup

There was another thread suggesting this could be launched in Belgium in a week's time from [member=3587]Hans Mertens[/member]
"Just had an email from Festool Belgium to announce there presence on Prowood, a trade fair, that starts next Sunday, 21 October."

That's annoying after I bought the new version midi this year they then bring out another new version [emoji34]

Yep, this will most probably be the vac that they will launch on Sunday.  Any questions that I have to ask?

The lid seems like a nice addition, I always place my machines on the vac, under the table when I'm on a job.  This will make it easier especially for smaller items.  But it's also one more thing that can get damaged, and since I already use my vac as a make shift dropof place, that means I don't really need it.

Cable storage on the back means that the unit will probably be deeper, but than again, if you don't want to use it, and it is the same design as the bigger vac's, you can leave it of.

No dial, from the photo it seems that everything is operated with touch buttons.  Don't now what to think of that.  Dials work just fine, but in combination with the bluetooth control it makes sense.  A dial can be in the wrong position, that problem is solved with the touch buttons.

Great spot [member=68960]tobiaskurz[/member]!

I wonder whether this will be a replacement for or whether a modified CTL Midi is also on the way? And what of the Mini? Your comment about the accessories and date leaves me wondering - "fitting for manufactured till 2018" suggests a redesign for the existing CTL too...

i think my midi has been to hell and back. Like 20 years old. One of my best festool purchases. If the new one could use that new bleu tooth thingy that I put on my ct 26 I would buy it tomorrow. Its the perfect portable size.

But what we really need is a new jig saw track saws with heuvos and a new kapex.

I’ve had a quick look at festool.be, facebook.com/festoolbe and the Prowood sitehttps://www.prowood-fair.be/nl/news, but no sign of new Extractors yet. Have Festool sent any further info ?

Has there been any talk of a release date for the new CT Midi in North America? I would really like to upgrade to the new version. So many upgraded features in such small package. I am looking forward to it.

I've been waiting for that news too, and it looks like we have an answer.  They're finally posted on the FestoolUSA.com website, and the page says August 1st.
