Just curious if those that attended Connect were able to get their questions answered by using this saw or at the least seeing it demonstrated at a 45 degree angle cut on a 2 X piece of wood, thanks in advance for the answers on this.

It does cut through but leaves a small nib behind, see pictures posted by Rick earlier in this thread.  The "offcut" piece is clean.

Doesn't the TS/TSC 55 have the same limitation?

I suppose so, but they aren't construction saws (or should I say Konstruction).

So this is a new product opportunity for TSO.

Make a guide rail that provides that silly millimeter of cutting depth the 55 saws lack.

Since a full width rail would have to be 1 mm thinner to accomplish that it would be more flexible. Flexibility could become a feature.

Niceties like the splinter guard and glide strips might have to be sacrificed...

it should not be able to just cut... a 2x4... its a construction saw... lvls are 1 3/4"... or its just a cool niche trim saw... which is cool... but the marketing for this is harder at the price point festool wants.
