Last month while on a road trip back East to help an eldery relative with some home repairs, I stopped at a dealer after deciding to start my festool collection and to try out on some of the repairs since dust was a concern. I sprung for a router and a vacuum, paid full price but there was a package discount of $100 or something. After paying, I found out they were giving me the demo units. I didn't have time or energy to argue but I was unhappy.
What have people seen in this regard, is festool not making enough money that they can't give dealers a "super discount" for demo unit which they then keep on display and give customers new, boxed units? I thought that was normal procedure for most companies - dealers get 1 at an above normal discount schedule for display. Before I go to local dealers for anything else, I wanted to check if this is a common occurrence.
Also, where can I find a list of parts that I should have received in the router?
Thanks for any feedback.
