Thanks.

Greg, nothing regarding any potential upcoming promotions has been communicated. Should there be a promotion, we will, as always, make sure we communicate it broadly for all.

Greg Ladd said:Disappointing for me; I bought a Kapex late Monday.
I would have waited; out $140.00. Ouch.
Great for others that might be on the fence though!

Although I haven't turned it on yet, I don't know what Amazon's return policy would be in this instance. I assume it isn't defective so no reason to return it as of yet.
I'll call them today. Maybe they would be willing to adjust the price.

It doesn't matter - Festool USA has a 30-day, no questions asked return policy. You don't need a 'reason' to return it. You might be out for the return postage, but for $140 surely it's worth it?
SittingElf said:Not trying to be rude, but I think that with 11 days notice of a pending sale, trying to return a working and flawless item just to re-buy the same product at the sale price is VERY unethical.
If it happened enough, the manufacturers would just stop having sales. How much notice do you need? I have purchased many items over the years that have gone on sale not long after I purchased them. I took my chances, and lived with it. I think it's terribly disingenuous to assume that the manufacturers should match a sales period price for items purchased outside of the sale period. If that were the case, then the price would ALWAYS be the sale price.
Personally, if I was one of Festools Dealers, and I had customers that would return items for this purpose, I might just not have ANY items in stock the next time that customer wanted to order from me.
My opinion, and others may differ, but I think that crying over missing a sale, and attempting to bypass the sales timeline rules to get the special price by returning a working product is dishonest.

Shane Holland said:PLEASE do not return you Kapex and then re-purchase. This is unnecessary and creates an inconvenience for you, hurts your dealer because of credit card transaction and other costs, and puts a perfectly good Kapex back in our inventory. Doing that will make it harder for us to justify conducting future promos.
Contact your dealer once the promo begins. If you have trouble, let me know and I will assist.

Nah, it's about trying to create an even playing field for our dealers. [wink]

re the Kapex that I received on the 20th, I would only be refunded the sale price, not what I paid for it. You are only refunded the lowest available retail price in effect during your 30 day return window. Also, how do I contact Amazon to see if they would refund the difference? There is no other remedy on their site short of returning the item.
i understand that Festool and Amazon would be hurt by this. Shouldn't Festool contact Amazon and try to work out something?
