You must decide if what is offered is worth it to you.
No doubt there will be a new version of Kapex, but that may be 10 years away.

Good luck.

no doubt that kapex is great saw if not the best but if some kind of promo is around the corner why not wait . right  :)

Fair point, but to my knowledge the router promo was under wraps until ~3 weeks before it started.

Each of us has to decide how to spend our budget for tools.

By the time the Kapex was announced I had become a Festool convert. Over the previous 60 years I had owned many radial arm and miter saws. In fact I still had a wonderful 14" radial arm saw as well as a near-new miter saw with an accurate laser.

I value my time. My goal is to make very accurate cuts that do not require additional steps, especially to make them glue-ready. All the solid lumber I use is expensive. Before I even could pre-order a Kapex I had seen them demonstrated many times. I also had the chance to make cuts in material I brought with me to shows. I convinced myself that for my use the Kapex would become my primary sliding miter saw for finished work. I never planned to replace either my larger radial arm or smaller miter saw. In fact all three are installed in my shop along the same wall, sharing a common bench.

I do not use the Kapex to cut typical framing lumber, since my 14" radial arm saw is designed to do that. To reduce wear on the Kapex blade I use my smaller miter saw when the finish of the cut is less important.

For use on site, or closer to the assembly area of my shop, I bought a second Kapex.

For me the Kapex is worth the price.
