NOTE about HEPA and HEPA COMPLIANCE:

EXCERPT from HEPA FILTER CONFORMANCE  TECHNICAL BULLETIN.PDF

"By definition a HEPA filter is a tested filter that is at least 99.97% efficient on particles 0.3 micron in size . Now we have vacuum cleaners and other consumer items claiming to use HEPA filters − absolutely not! These filters are not individually tested and many of them actually use a lesser efficiency media. HEPA

Rarely do sequentially tested filters test at the same penetration and resistance. If each label is a duplicate of the previous it is doubtful that the manufacturer tested every filter. The IEST Recommended Practice, Underwriters Laboratories Standard, government specifications and definitions of HEPA filters, require testing of every filter.

Can a filter be defined as a HEPA filter because the media manufacturer has tested a piece of the media?

All HEPA media is tested by the media manufacturer. It is a different testing method than that used for a completely assembled filter. Some manufacturers will reference the media manufacturers' test, assemble a product, and make inference that they are providing a HEPA filter. This is an absolute misstatement. In order to meet the aforementioned Practices and Standards, every HEPA filter must be tested after all components are assembled.

This information Took alot of digging and a state lead abatement inspector's help in finding  There is so much confusion right now about what is a HEPA vac or a HEPA FILTERED vac So unless the Vacuum has documentation that meets HEPA standards and the filter (serial numbered) also has corresponding documentation, a knowlegable inspector will be able to site a violation.  ADDITIONALLY  the notion that a vac with an undocumented HEPA is better than another vac is just that a notion.

**
  * All Attix HEPA vacuums and HEPA filters are individually stamped as HEPA filters, are individually tested and certified to exceed EPA RRP HEPA filtration requirements.

    * Attix HEPA vacuums and filters come with individual HEPA certificates. This provides the necessary documentation and protection you need in case of an inspection.

I just purched a 30 to go with my attix 8  will give a rundown next week

nilfisk are the number one vacuum brand in the world.

the protool and festool vacs are very similar to nilfisk. i would bet a few dollars that festool pay nilfisk to use their design.

With the Push & Clean filter cleaning system you need to cover the hose-opening and the vac will clean the filters. (as opposed to the Xtreme clean automatic filtercleaning, where the vac cleans the filters automatically, and you can keep using it)

The naina CTL's don't have automatic filtercleaning, but a nifty collapsing bag design, that keeps the fine dust from clogging the pores of the bags (so this bag-cleaning only happens when the vac isn't working). (those CTL's suck 138 cfm)

A few years ago I was in the market for a vac with automatic filtercleaning, and I wanted to get a protool vac (made by nilfisk alto), because they came with the 36mm festool hose (but in orange instead of green), but the guy in the store couldn't explain what the difference was between the 340 euro push & clean version and the 650 euro autoclean version.

I ended up getting a different brand vac with automatic filtercleaning, because there happend to be a rep of that brand (spit) in the store, who made me an offer I couldn't refuse (375 for a vac that normally goes for 495).

My guess would be they let nilfisk build them in their colors.

Similar to systainers (tanos) and the festool (stabila) level?

sort of.

Tanos is part of the tool technics family, I believe.  And stabila and festool just collaborated to make a level just a little different then the regular 'Bilas.

AWESOME:

I didn't put the info to hammer footstool or any other manufacturer only to inform.  keep the documentation in your RRP folder and you are on Cruse control.

The shape of the CT22 and 33 adds alot of value though. Im not about to go out and buy a nilfisk vac that I cant rest my tools on or clip systainers to. and what to save 40 bucks? no way. I'll stick with the Fes Vacs.

Maybe that's why it was put in the other tools section.

I've never owned a Festool vac so I can't compare Festool to Nilfisk/Alto and tell which is best.

After years with a cheap vac and more dust in my longues than in the vac when sanding I decided to buy a better vac. Actually I decided to buy a Festool SRM 45 vac but I found out that it looked exactly like a Nilfisk Attix model and also like a Makita model (as I remember it).

But comparing prices her in Denmark (Nilfisk is a danish brand) I ended up with a Nilfisk/Alto Attix 50-21 with Extreme Clean, which is a larger model than the one similar to the SRM 45. But it was on sale at about half price of the Festool!
Extreme Clean means that it has a periodically cleaning of the filter. Opposite to the the Push & Clean technology where you have to block the vac hose and push a button on the vac. I found that push & clean to be less smart because you have to unplug the hose now and then to clean the filter.

I've been very satisfied with the Nilfisk so without trying a Festool vac I wouldn't hesitate to recommend a Nilfisk/Alto. I believe a Festool vac is very good too!

Totally off topic  [off topic]: Nilfisk (Fisker & Nielsen) actually started as a motor bike company but their Nimbus models couldn't compete with lots of foreign brands such as Triumph and what's it called....that small american brand? Harley Davidson  ;)

First Nimbus model known as the "Woodburning stove pipe"

Second Nimbus model known as the "Bumblebee"

Sorry for being off topic!  [embarassed]

I got the Vac today...
There are some things that are so cool about it:
They sell a 1micron filter bag for it 5 for $28  that is Awesome.
It is QUIET It makes the CT seem loud lol
The inside of tub has no sharp edges Super easy to empty and clean.
Push N Clean will be awesome.
Comes with wand and accesssories in price

What I DON'T like is the US (basic/ HEPA) versions use a 1 1/4 hose that whose attachments do not play well with the on board storage.

I made a Video  It is not very sharp not sure if it is the camera or that the video is not finished processing .  well here it is.
Nilfisk Attix 30

Thanks Craig
