New MFK Base... Whats the deal?

Is this for a vertical configuration? What are the advantages to this new plate to what comes with the kit? Looking at getting an MFK and want the 0 deg plate. Was Wondering if this is another plate I will be having to look at.

It has a spring-loaded bearing brake. That's the difference. Just keep the bearing from spinning and marring the work surface.

So this wold be similar to the vertical plate with a spring loaded bearing. ok. Thanks.

It also has an offset to clear the overhang from edgebanding.  This permits the trimming of the edgebanding with the router in the vertical position.
